To you, if you feel people just see your life on the outside and they judge you. You feel they don't know you, but yet, come to grave conclusions; They don't know the hard work you put into making your brand well-known, they don't know your inner demons, nor do they know the challenges you face.

He feels you. Jesus sees you if they do not. He understands and loves you, regardless. He's got you in the palm of His fingers and He's ready to be your friend.

CHAPTER ONE

"Eii! Eii! Eii!..."

With a sharp reflex, Betty pulled her phone from her right ear. The phone almost slipped from her grasp, but she held it tightly and adjusted it to her left ear.

Her iPhone 14 pro is her baby. One of her babies actually. She cherishes her gadgets with her entire being. When Yetunde, her best Pal talks camera, she goes mute, but then her camera is her Sweetheart. She might not know all about Cameras, but she named the one she has, her Sweetheart. She's got names for these devices.

She shakes her head vigorously,

"I can't for the life of me understand why you have to scream whenever you call me"

"Eii! E get one handsome watermelon wey dey here," Yetunde's chuckles could be heard in the background.

"Yetuuunde!"

" As in Betty, the guy is edible"

Betty adjusted her sitting posture, "First, watermelon is my best fruit, but then, I can never describe it as being handsome. I'd rather say it's delicious, or mouth-watering. Secondly, if it's a human being you are trying to describe. A human being can not be edible"

" Gettat joor!" She laughs hard "Omor, na your problem be that you too sabi English. Abeg shift"

Sighing, Betty said into her phone "Yetunde, let's not do this now."

"Okay oo. Why are you not here already? We are running late, you know?

Betty sighed as she looked out of the window at the long line of cars, " I've been held up in the traffic"

"Uhh. Eeyah. When you get here then." Yetunde said distractedly

The sound of the dropping call made Betty know that Yetunde had severed the call. Betty smiled as she remembered how Yetunde and she met.

"Wow, it's been 8 years since I met that girl already"

Betty and Yetunde met at the University. Those 100 Level days at Bowen University, Iwo, made their bond tighter, and since then, they've been best pals.

" Ehen, madam. This place nah one..."

Betty's look at the Uber driver in pure disgust stopped him from talking.

That morning, while starting her car, she observed that the car was going to cause problems. She drove the car to her mechanic's place.

Presently, the driver seem to be getting on her nerves.

It's obvious that the driver has continued talking because when Betty pulled out of her thought, the Uber driver was still talking

"...the time my wife get belle sef..."

Betty became pissed "Please drop me"

"You say?" His confusion was evident on his face.

" You can drop me here"

"But you never reach..."

" I'm no longer going in your car"

"You say you dey go Unilag Nah*

"Just drop me here" More pissed with the driver, she picks up her shades, and put them on.

"But we never even get to that Ebute Metta side" The man looked confused.

She got her face cap and hood, " I will wound you o, I said I can no longer go in your car."

She angrily got out of the car. She wore her face cap with her hood to avoid meeting someone who knows her.

She flagged down a public bus, which stopped to carry her.

At the far end of the bus, a man was shouting, "Buy herbal, it cures everything..."

She sat down beside a woman who was struggling with a Baba blue sweet wrap. Her teeth were pulling the wrap. The moment she pulled out her teeth, her saliva splashed over Betty's naked shoulder.

Frustrated,

"Ahahn! What's all these?" Betty adjusted herself to move far away from the woman. She removed her tissues from her bag, unwrapped it, and cleaned off the saliva.

"Pele, mabinu. It's this leather" she coughed "I get cough, and I wan lick Baba blue, the leather hard, shey you will help me open am?

Betty eyed the woman, hissed, and wore her earpiece. " Nonsense".

**
"Eii! Eii! Eii! Babe don land!

Yetunde reduced her tone when she saw fuming Betty.

" Wetin?"

"I will never understand why you choose to open a studio around this area."

" What happened?" Yetunde asked empathetically.

"You don't want to know" Betty dropped her bag and removed her heels.

With her brows risen, Yetunde asked "Where you dey go?"

"I'm coming back" Betty hurriedly passed through a door and came back.

"Where's your toilet?" She asked Yetunde impatiently.

"You be visitor?"

With a sarcastic expression, Yetunde pointed at the door.

**

With her hands under her chin, "So, you went through all that? Wetin we no go see for this Nigeria Nah"

"They are your family members," Betty said, angry that she had to go through what she experienced.

"How?"

"It's your pidgin-speaking siblings."

Yetunde jumps up, "Ehen? Pidgin na better language! You know I grew up in Warri nau"

Betty eyed Yetunde.

Yetunde laughs, "Let's go check out the guys in the studio"

Yetunde is an Exceptional Photographer with a lot of awards. She was recently awarded the 'Exceptional Photographer of the year' by an international Photography company. She owns a very large photography studio, which has her office, an academy, and a studio for taking pictures.

They moved from her office into the Studio area.

Yetunde used her shoulder to bump Betty's shoulder.

"See the watermelon" Not wanting to be heard, Yetunde whispered.

Betty turned her head to look at the man.

"Shay, u no go run?" The watermelon said to a lady in front of him.

Yetunde and Betty twisted their heads to look at each other. The moment their eyes jammed, they could not hold in their laughter anymore.

"He speaks pidgin. A total turnoff for you I for say you should both exchange contact." Yetunde said while laughing.

"It's not only contact."

"AB Nah," The lady in front of the watermelon said.

"His name is even AB" Yetunde said as she looks at Betty.

"Only God knows what AB stands for,"  Betty said and they started the guessing game.

" Abraham?"

"Abiodun?"

" Abdulsalam?"

"Moab?"

" Ab... Ahahn Moab ke? Hehehee" Yetunde held her tummy in laughter.

A noise caused them to look in the right direction only to see a young girl falling from her seat.

Yetunde and Betty ran over to help her up only to find out she overheard their banter, and they joined her to continue laughing.

**

"But Betty, it's almost 12 ooo, they are almost done with the wedding ceremony" Yetunde called out to Betty who was changing her dress in preparation for the wedding they had that day.

With a loud voice from the dressing room, " Are we the ones they want to join in holy matrimony?" Betty said

"This your mentality na waaa!"

"But it's true"

The whole place is filled with sweet fragrance, as Betty comes out of the dressing room.

Yetunde whistled "Oh boy, see beauty!!

Betty looked at Yetunde and laughed at her expression.

" If I hadn't seen you rushed into the toilet, I would have thought you were one goddess!"

"Even still, I'm a goddess!"

" Well, you could pass for one" Yetunde shrugged.

"You ehn!"

Yetunde arranges her things into her bag.

"I thought you were waiting for me? You are not done yourself" Betty looked impatient.

" I am Nah." She looked up to see Betty walking out the door.

"Mbok" Yetunde said in a loud voice as she hurried out the door.

Betty stopped abruptly, "Wait, Is that not...

Yetunde looked towards the direction Betty pointed to, to see a car coming head-on...
