Bonjour! Welcome to my 12-day blog series, where I will be sharing 24 lessons I've learnt in 2024. I'm excited to dive in and share these insights with you, so do stay through.π |
LESSON FIVE
I once wrote on habit formation, where I highlighted how our daily actions can quickly become habits and how whatever we do every single day has the potential to become our way of life. You can read (and listen) to my TWO CENTS ON HABITS FORMATION HERE.
Research suggests that habits are often formed within an average of 66 days. While that may be true, consistency is key. For example, if you eat at 2 PM every day, your body will start to require food at that time, adjusting your habits accordingly.
This year, I started using Duolingo, a language learning app, and learnt valuable lessons about determination, consistency, and resilience. After using Duolingo for over 346 days with the lessons it has taught me, I have seen the need to apply it to my life: business, career, academics, and social life.
This is gotten from my previous post on habits formation, and it's still as reasonable as the first time I wrote it. |
It made me understand that if my daily actions could fast become my way of life, then I have to carefully decide what I frequently use my time for.
So, the question is: what is worthy of my time? What is worthy of becoming my way of life?
LESSON SIX
I learnt a lot from working with my teammates on our research project for our finals.
One of the most important things I learnt is that everyone is unique. Each person has their strengths, weaknesses, and habits. I worked with people who were kind, supportive, and dedicated to their work. I also encountered individuals who were less invested, had attitude issues, or were too busy to commit to the project.
Despite these differences, I realized that it's essential to be kind, helpful, and vocal. I should strive to be an active team player, offering support and assistance whenever possible to create a positive and productive work environment.
My experience working with a team on my research project has been invaluable. I've learnt to appreciate the diversity of individuals, the importance of communication, and the value of teamwork. These lessons will forever benefit me in all aspects of my life.
