Bonjour! Welcome to my 12-day blog series, where I will be sharing 24 lessons I've learnt in 2024. I'm excited to dive in and share these insights with you, so do stay through.π |
LESSON ELEVEN
I love to talk (or write) about the Eisenhower Principle, since I found out about it. It is a very useful tool in goal setting and project management.
This simple yet powerful framework uses a 4-quadrant approach to prioritize tasks based on their urgency and importance.
The quadrants are:
1. Important and urgent (Do First)
2. Important but not urgent (Schedule)
3. Not important but urgent (Delegate)
4. Not important and not urgent (Eliminate)
A key takeaway for me is the value of delegation, which falls under the third quadrant -not important but urgent. Moving forward, I will focus on delegating tasks by:
-Asking for help when needed
-Finding volunteers to assist with tasks
-Acknowledging my limitations
-Prioritizing tasks I can handle
-Confidently saying no to tasks that exceed my capacity.
By applying the Eisenhower Principle and embracing delegation, I'm confident in my ability to manage tasks more efficiently and achieve my goals.
LESSON TWELVE
I've noticed that people often show respect only when they know someone's title or status. But why should that be the case? Every individual deserves respect, regardless of their position or achievements.
We should not look down on others just because we don't know who they are or what they do or how old they are. Everyone has worth and value, and it's essential to treat others with dignity and respect.
Respect is not just about what someone can do for us or what we can gain from them. It's about recognizing the inherent value and worth of every human being. There is no one undeserving of respect.
So, it's important we learn this together. Let's make a conscious effort to respect everyone equally, regardless of age, position, or background. Let's treat others with kindness, compassion, and understanding.
